New learning environments in the 21st century

“How can movement be integrated into innovative school learning environments?” – this was the question posed by the innovation competition “moving education – New learning environments in the 21st century”. It was initiated by the EU-sponsored project “tfe – task future in education” and the members of the “moving education network”, which include among others VS Vereinigte Spezialmöbelfabriken. Now the five winners have been chosen.

200 students, 54 teams, 10 countries – the competition in the innovation competition “moving education – Learning environments in the 21st century” was stiff. Students and recent graduates from the years 2012/2013 in all subjects submitted their creative and forward-looking projects relating to the theme “Learning environments in the 21st century”.

The competition was initiated by “tfe – task future in education”, an EU-sponsored project that is concerned with the research and development of innovative school furniture and learning environments. It works in close cooperation with various industry partners, including VS Vereinigte Spezialmöbelfabriken.

The international and interdisciplinary jury was impressed by the results. Accordingly, the eight experts from research, teaching and industry found it difficult to pick the winning projects. But now the winners can be announced:

  • Carlow Institute of Technology, Ireland
Other winners:
  • Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain
  • Technical University Vienna, Austria
  • University of Applied SciencesWürzburg-Schweinfurt, Germany

Special mention prize:

  • Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland
