Processes at VS.
Reduction of environmental pollution. Thanks to in-house production at the Tauberbischofsheim site, processes and material flows can be optimally adapted to achieve the greatest possible conservation of resources. VS regularly invests in the latest plant technology. This ensures that material efficiency is constantly increased and environmental aspects such as energy and waste water balance can be improved. The waste wood from production is increasingly being used directly to generate power/energy.
Product development. Production is consistently determined by environmental considerations. This starts in product development with the choice of few but high-quality components; composite materials are avoided. All the parts used can be returned in accordance with the VS recycling concept after disassembly to the cycle of materials.
Packaging. Foil packaging is avoided to the greatest possible extent; the furniture is safely loaded for transport with covers and foam parts. The transport covers are made from 90% recycled material.
Route planning. Haulage routes are calculated efficiently in accordance with transport volume and route guidance. Haulage agencies that train their staff to adopt economic driving styles are preferred.
Spare parts service. The useful life of furniture can be prolonged by the repair or replacement of individual components. A spare parts service is available where necessary.
Global Compact. VS is a member of the UN Global Compact initiative and is committed in all its business operations to acting as a role model in maintaining and constantly checking ethical, social and ecological standards of business – in its own company setup and in the entire supply chain.
Process-oriented environment management. The environment management system in compliance with DIN EN ISO 14001 lays down stipulations at VS for all operative processes. Thanks to this internationally binding standard the company’s environmental situation is continuously improved in response to regular independent monitoring.
