Cleaning and maintaining

Note on COVID-19: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) offers detailed cleaning and disinfecting guidance depending on how often surfaces are touched. To learn more about their latest recommendations, please visit www.coronavirus.gov.

General information: Veneered and lacquered surfaces do not require any intensive cleaning. The UV-hardened acrylic resin lacquered coats (water-based UV lacquer) ensure easy maintenance. It is advisable to be careful, in particular in the case of hard, rough, pointed or sharp-edged objects such as, for example, protective studs or buckles on briefcases. Solvent-based substances (e.g. including nail varnish) can also damage the lacquer.

Standard maintenance: Regularly dry-wipe table surfaces and, in addition, also occasionally wipe with a soft, damp cloth (use household detergent sparingly). Then rub over with a dry cloth.

If possible, wipe away spilt liquids (water, coffee, tea etc.) with a soft dry or slightly moistened cloth. Always wipe over again with a dry cloth.

Do not use any hard or rough cloths (including microfibre cloths), aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents. These can damage the veneered or lacquered surfaces. In the case of stubborn dirt, you are advised to contact the VS Service department directly.
